Year Walk App Reviews

I have no idea why there are so many good reviews for this terrible game. "Mind Blowing," "Best App Ever," "Masterpiece,""Awesome." Give me a break! Have any of these reviewers played ANY games EVER?! I have never written a bad review for a game that Ive purchased online, and I actually feel swindled. I never wanted $5 back in my pocket more, than with this "game." (Spoilers) Heres the entire game: Walk around aimlessly in the snow, discover some weird & NOT scary animals/objects/people, solve the puzzles involving them, 2 lame and unnecessary jump scares and after an hour or so (yes very short game) you realize there was absolutely NO point or fun at all. The whole "story" behind this pile of crap deals with time travel. Well, I wish I could travel back in time and never play it. Seriously, stay away from this sh@t.

Great game love everything about it. Scary in some ways but also exiting. I am really disappointed that the companion doesnt work for me, but the game itself is amazing

Get this game its cool

I have never written a review for an app and have been using iPhones since the 3G. This was truly amazing. Read the free ebook first, then read through the companion app, then play this and go back to the companion after you finish. Everything comes together so well. The story could be a great movie in a similar style to Donnie Darko. I really liked Device 6, but this is a whole different level of story and immersion. Very good work team and please keep it up.

What an experience! For such a small price, this is one of the coolest games ever. Beautiful video and audio, and the lack of instructions makes the experience of exploration totally unique.

The PC version is one of my favorite games of all time. This version is also great! It does leave out a few things from the PC version, making it a little shorter... And to enjoy the game you have to download the companion app... But other than that its really great!

totally bummed that it ends

I felt I wasted $4 on this. Blah imagery and weird navigation. You can go left and right and then in some places (where there is an arrow to indicate) you can go forward and back. I love escape games, but this one just felt rudimentary and like you couldnt interact with much of anything. Hard to remember where to go when it all pretty much looks the same too. I grew up in MN playing in woods that looked just like this, but they could really have done more with it.

Interesting but very underdeveloped storyline, and extremely limited/short gameplay. Really not worth the money. Not really sure what the hype was about...

Parts slightly confusing (as in, Ill just touch stuff and maybe that will do something...) but worth the time and money. I also enjoyed Device 6 - both really original and haunting.

If you like dark, atmospheric games, Year Walk is for you. Incredible experience. Also highly suggest the companion pack

I have seen this on the App Store for some time and I havent bought it because I never really thought of it as good but a few days ago I was bored and got this.Love it.With 2 endings,a really helpful companion,overall awesome art and sound effects and music this game is topped off with an absolutely fascinating story that will want you to beg for a sequel (if you like dark fantasy) the only flaw is that the puzzles are either too hard or long or the game in a whole is short but still great job!

This game took me right back to childhood and the weird folklore that would keep me awake in terror. I wouldnt say this game is very scary. Just spooky in a way David Lynch fan would appreciate. Definitely download the free companion, it makes the game even better.

This is less of a game and more of just wandering around and trying to solve extremely hard puzzles. There are no hints or clues or any indication you are on the right path. These puzzles would take forever to figure out if you didnt have a the walk through. Way too frustrating.

I played this game for 30 minutes or so and found it a bit annoying. Like a poor mans "the room". I couldnt continue playing, maybe youll have more fun though.

This game is beautiful and well designed with great art and music. The only problem I have with it is that the puzzles are hard to figure out. I had to look a lot of it up online.

Best app art I’ve seen, and awesome story to go along with it. Companion app is necessary! Really awesome game overall.

I loved this game! It has that creepy aspect to it I love how u dont really know whats going on it gives u that freaky aspect. I wish it was a longer game... But it was worth it. Year Walk Companion is needed if you want to complete the full story. I think that is very unique to think of I love this!

A friend recommended this game to me because I told him that I liked Braid and Limbo. He said this game is of that style and I should find it fun. But the fact is that I never got the idea of this game. Its not a game at all. No feedback as what the goal is. No help screen. Nothing. Games should be fun but this one is only frustrating and confusing. It cant really compare with Braid and Limbo.

This game was very easy, beautiful and way too short for $4.
