The game itself isnt that difficult with fairly simple puzzles to figure out but the artwork, and mythology makes it really memorable.

This is honestly one of the best games Ive ever played. I love the graphics and the eeriness of everything. the puzzles arent too hard or too easy and everything is just wow. there werent any bugs either. I do suggest getting the companion app as well though because it really helps you understand things. this was a really good game.

First off, Id like to say that Im glad that this game exists. It does a lot of things in interesting ways, and Im sure that many future game makers will take inspiration from it in one way or another. Id also like to say that Im not glad that I purchased this game personally. The puzzles arent particularly fun or satisfying from a pure gameplay perspective-I can say quite confidently that this game would not have been widely celebrated on the strength of its puzzles alone-and the plot not to my taste. I think a lot of people were impressed by this games story because it is unusual, and ends up being quite powerful. Its also incredibly morbid, and if you arent into that sort of thing, you likely wont enjoy it. I dont mean its merely depressing-Romeo and Juliet is depressing. I dont mean it has morbid overtones-Bergmans Seventh Seal has morbid overtones. This is morbid. It is bereft of any sort of positive life affirming sentiment whatsoever. That may be your cup of tea- it isnt mine. Frankly, Id rate this as at least a three if there werent so many positive reviews already. Someone needs to speak for those who dont like this sort of thing. As a side note, I will add that, as so many have stated, that if you do decide to purchase this app, the free companion app will improve your experience considerably. I highly recommend that you read it over before playing the game. It adds much needed context, and it is important for other reasons as well. Suffice it to say, that as long as this game is installed on your device, the companion should be as well.

I read about people completing the game in an hour, but Im an hour in and have absolutely no idea what Im supposed to be doing. I just keep going to the same places over and over again... And theres nothing really guiding me, so Im bored of it.

Loved this game almost as much as Device 6. Very original and thought provoking in both the story and puzzles involved in the " walk ". More please!

I have been searching lately for more dark, heady, difficult puzzle games with a nice story, and this is it. I love the lack of instruction and how you actually have to use your own creativity to see subtle patterns and solve each task. Overall, such a lovely game that was beautiful to play.

The design of this game is excellent. The graphics, the user interface, the story, overall the style of the game. The reason why I gave it 3 stars was because it doesnt seem worth $4 to me. The game was too short and the puzzles were pretty easy to solve. I also must mention that there are a couple of jump scares, which I did not like. Overall, its worth playing but I think it should be cheaper considering how quickly you can finish the game.

I enjoyed this game. After playing their other game, device 6, I looked for more by this company. Glad I did. Quirky. Only had to cheat a couple of times.

Super good but the first pop up scare scared me so much I threw the marker I was writing notes on my arm with across the room, fell of the bed, and let out a weird squeal, so be warned this is not a game for little kids of people who can get seizures from getting too surprised.

Fantastic. Nordic+Kafka+Japanese horror style gaming experience. Truly unique. Be sure play at night, alone in the dark, with your headphones on. Well executed gameplay that gives life to the story and art.

Year walk is a mix of puzzle based games and interactive stories. Calling it a game doesnt really describe it accurately, rather, its an experience. Its got a fantastic story and interesting puzzle elements. I highly recommend it. Be sure to download the free companion app and look through it as you play through Year Walk, it really ties everything together.

Beautiful and eerie, and a little disturbing, but so fascinating. What a great experience. I had not played anything like this before. The graphics are interesting and remind me of paper cut-outs. The way you move about the scenes is interesting. This game will make you curious to keep playing.
